Pilgrim Youth Fellowship

Pilgrim Youth Fellowship Mission Statement: Provide the youth of the Plantsville Congregational UCC with fun and with experiences helping others in the local and global community, while providing an atmosphere that encourages Christian fellowship and support.

Plantsville Congregational UCC strongly believes in the value of our youth members and the many special gifts and contributions they bring to the life of our congregation. Because of this, the church seeks many ways to be supportive of youth activities.

If you are a young person or a family who is searching for a church experience that welcomes youth presence and participation, you are invited to join Pilgrim Youth Fellowship (PYF). Together, we are seeking ways to deepen our relationship with God, grow our faith and discipleship, and discover new and exciting ways to BE the church, now and into the future! You are welcome at Plantsville UCC!

We have two age groups: Senior PYF, for grades 9–12, and Junior PYF, for grades 6–8. The two groups usually meet together, but when the topic or meeting needs to be age-appropriate, they will meet separately.

Pilgrim Youth Fellowship gathers together on most Sunday evenings from 4-6 pm. Each Sunday is a little different, filling our time together with a mixture of games, group activities, Bible study or hot topic discussions, worship, service projects, outings, and snacks. If an event for the wider church falls on a Sunday, that event takes precedence, and members PYF are encouraged to participate.

We hold a yearly youth retreat at Silver Lake Conference Center, a UCC-run camp in Sharon, CT. We also encourage our youth to attend SLCC’s summer camp and offer scholarships for those families who need it.
