SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS… MARCH 14, 2010

Palm Sunday Processional

Children and youth are asked to:

·         Gather in Fellowship Hall by 9:45 a.m. on Palm Sunday, March 28th for the Palm Sunday celebration and processional into the Sanctuary.

·          Line up with the Choir and carry palms to wave during the processional, moving up the side aisle, down the center aisle, and stopping in front of the stairs, where they will hear the Children’s Message.

·         Remember to bring their Church bank offerings into Fellowship Hall, holding onto them until they are received at the end of the Children’s Message.

“Fill-the-Church” Bank Offerings to Be Dedicated on Palm Sunday

·      Sunday School students should continue to fill their banks, knowing that they’re helping provide emergency relief to the Haiti people after an Earthquake destroyed their homes.

·      The entire congregation may also continue to support this important outreach campaign by dropping off loose change in these church-shaped banks located on the window sills in the Sanctuary.

·       For adults who wish to fill their own banks additional banks are located in Fellowship Hall.

·         On Palm Sunday, these banks will be received and dedicated during the morning’s worship service.

Every contribution is important & will make a difference!

Registration: A Safe Church Process

Registering children who attend Sunday School or use our nursery is an important process in our Safe Church Policy. If your child has not been registered, please take the time to complete a registration form and return it to your child’s teacher at the beginning or end of class this morning.  Blank registration forms are available on the table at the back of the Sanctuary and may also be requested of the Sunday School teachers in the classrooms.

Please note that families using our Nursery during the worship service must register their children in the Nursery room before leaving him/her to be cared for by our childcare volunteers.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Our Children’s Ministry program is a beacon of light that shows our children how to serve Christ, live a life that shines for all to see, and reveals the stories of our faith as we learn to walk hand-in-hand with God.

We provide a Sunday School program for children age 3 through grade 12 from 10 a.m to 11:15 on most Sunday mornings.  Our Sr. High School youth gather 2 Sundays a month for Sunday School, participate in worship, assist in other classrooms, and help out with the confirmation class.  In addition, we provide childcare during the worship service for infants and toddlers not old enough to attend Sunday School.

ARE YOU BEING CALLED TO SERVE?

W
e are still looking for 1 or more adult volunteers in the Nursery to help provide tender,
loving care to our little ones during the worship service on Sunday mornings.

Sign up for the weeks you wish to commit to provide coverage.
Commitment required:
                 *
2 Sundays each month
                 *  Arrive 15 minutes prior to the worship service beginning

As mandated by PCCUCC’s Safe Church Policy, all volunteers must have a background check performed prior to working in the Nursery.

Please contact Dawn Crane, Sunday School Administrator, at the Church
Office: (860) 628-5595,
if you are interested in exploring
this rewarding opportunity
to make a difference in the lives of our children and their parents.
