 The meeting was called to order by Moderator Walt Atwood at 8:24 p.m. followed by an opening prayer
 The February minutes were reviewed, approved and accepted

  • Several people have had surgery or are not feeling well and Sandy asked that they be kept in prayer

  • It was noted that things are “where they should be” with a small shortfall – approximately $7,300

·         Order for over 100 Easter plants has been placed

o        Money collected will be given to Southington Community Services
·         Southington Community Services needs assistance with Easter basket items
·         Mystery Dinner plans are coming along well

o        Dates are May 8, 14, 15
o        Tickets go on sale March 21 after church

·         Had the bi-annual appraisal for property insurance

·         Still trying to decide what to do about the carpeting in the sanctuary
·         Are getting another estimate on re-pointing the steps
·         4/24 The facility is rented for a baby shower

  • Very successful Spaghetti Supper and Pound Auction – netted $1,393.65
  • Lenten series has been well received with good attendance – over 50 people each week
  • The Maundy Thursday service will be a Cantata with joint choirs from PCC and First Church; program will be at PCC on Maundy Thursday and at First Church on Good Friday. Both services are scheduled for 7:30 pm
  • Thinking of sending a postcard or note to members who have not attended church for a while
  • Will be reinstating the Paraments Committee as the vestments are not being changed appropriately with the Liturgical calendar
  • 3/28 Palm Sunday Brunch – tickets are $6.00/person

  • The historical group has never had a meeting and needs to decide what they want to do
  • The 150th anniversary of PCC is in 5 years – could plan for this
  The next Council meeting will be held on April 21, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.
