PCUCC maintains the fruit shelf at the Southington Community Services food pantry. We are grateful for your continued donations of canned fruit, fruit cups, dried fruits, juice boxes, raisins, granola bars, etc.
BIBLE STUDY SESSIONS -
Join Pastor Paul for Bible Study on Mondays at 11 a.m. or 7 p.m. No previous Bible experience is necessary! Come join us.
KNITWITS classes are at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Men's knitting meets Mondays at 1p.m.
First Annual Harvest Tea - We invite the women of the church and our community to join us for a Harvest Tea on October 14th from 1-3:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Tickets go on sale Sept. 3rd. Proceeds help to support our Knitted Knocker Mission which provides soft, comfortable, knit prosthetics to breast cancer survivors free of charge. (Volunteers are needed for set-up and clearing. Please contact Barbara Dooley.)
MEMORIAL GIFT COMMITTEE
The Memorial Gift Committee welcomes donations and special gifts in memory of loved ones and has a Memorial Gift Registry. We welcome suggestions for enhancing our church and its worship. For more information on projects or the Memorial Gift Registry, contact any of the following committee members: Barbara Banks, Ruth Ann Davis, and Judy Edge.
Hurricane Relief: We are collecting funds for Hurricane Relief in the Caribbean and Florida. The funds will go through UCC Disaster Relief and 100% of money goes directly to that effort. The PCUCC Book Club selection for October is “The Woman in the Photo,” by Mary Hogan. Mabel M. will host our next meeting, on Friday, October 20th at 7:00 p.m. RSVP. Call or email the church office if you need contact info.
The Christian Action Board challenge reached 230 lbs. Looks like we’ll reach our goal of 250 lbs by the end of this month. for the PCUCC shelf at Southington Community Services. Please remember this is an ongoing mission. Please continue to make your donations.
Saturday, October 14th- 6 p.m. – Senior PYF 18-hour Overnight/FAST begins
Sunday, October 15th-After church , PYF collects for CROP Walk.
At 11 a.m., the FAST is over (BreakFast provided by CE Board)
JR PYF meets 5-6:30 p.m.; SR PYF meets 7-9:00 p.m.
The CROP Walk is Sunday, October 29. Walkers will leave St. Thomas Church at 1:30 and walk to Bread for Life. Walkers should bring a non-perishable food item with them; tours of BFL will be available. PYF collect for CROP on Sunday, October 15, 22 and 29.
